Lumina Spark is a personality profiling tool that helps people explore how they think, communicate and respond in different situations.

Rather than placing people into simple personality “types”, Lumina Spark recognises that we are all a blend of qualities. It explores the different aspects of our personality and how they show up in everyday work, when we are stretching ourselves, and when we are under pressure.

Many people find Lumina Spark helpful because it offers a thoughtful way to reflect on strengths, preferences and patterns in how we work with others.

How I Use Lumina Spark

I use Lumina as part of my facilitation and coaching work to support reflection, conversation and insight.

Sometimes this happens in a one-to-one session where someone wants to better understand their leadership style, communication preferences or approach to work. Other times it is used with teams who want to explore how they collaborate and how different strengths show up across the group.

Lumina often creates those moments where people say
“That explains a lot.”

The real value comes from the conversation that follows — exploring what resonates, what surprises you and how the insights might support your work going forward.

A Glimpse of My Lumina Spark Portrait

To give you a sense of what a Lumina portrait looks like, here is my own splash.

Every Lumina portrait is unique. It highlights the qualities that are most natural to you and shows how different aspects of your personality interact across three areas:

• your underlying qualities
• how those qualities tend to show up in everyday work
• how they may shift when you are under pressure

I find it helpful to share my own portrait because Lumina is not about labelling people — it is about creating space for reflection and conversation.

What a Lumina Spark Session Includes

If you choose to explore Lumina with me, the process usually includes:

A Lumina Spark questionnaire
You complete an online questionnaire which generates your personalised Lumina Spark portrait.

Your Lumina Spark portrait report
You receive a detailed report exploring your personality qualities and how they interact.

A guided debrief session
In our session we explore your portrait together, reflect on what resonates and talk about how the insights might support your work, relationships or leadership.

Sessions are reflective, practical and often energising.

Lumina Leader

Alongside Lumina Spark, I am also qualified in Lumina Leader, Lumina’s 360-degree leadership development tool.

Lumina Leader builds on the insights from Lumina Spark and explores how leadership behaviours are experienced by others. It gathers feedback from colleagues and stakeholders to create a fuller picture of how someone leads, communicates and influences.

This process can be particularly helpful for leaders who want to reflect on their impact, understand different perspectives and explore how their leadership style shows up in practice.

Lumina Leader is often used as part of leadership development programmes, coaching conversations or organisational learning.

Who Lumina Is Useful For

Lumina can be helpful for:

• individuals exploring leadership or personal development
• people stepping into new roles or responsibilities
• teams wanting to improve communication and collaboration
• organisations interested in reflective leadership and learning cultures

You do not need to have a specific problem to explore Lumina — curiosity is usually the best starting point.

One of the reasons I enjoy working with Lumina is that it connects beautifully with facilitation.

It helps people understand their own preferences while also recognising and appreciating the different strengths that others bring. This can open up more thoughtful conversations about collaboration, leadership and how teams work together.
